LITIGATION IN CIVIL COURT, HIGH COURT & SPECIALISED TRIBUNALS

 

The Chambers and its lawyers have extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation at all levels including the Specialised Tribunals, Civil Court and the High Courts of Pakistan. Not only does the Chambers has the capacity to handle matters in the demanding environment of the civil courts but have also successfully represented its clients before the appellate forum of the High Court.

 

ARBITRATION & ALTERNATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

 

The Chambers provides a full range of services in respect of arbitration including formulating arbitration clauses, preparing claims and conducting of arbitration proceedings. The Head of Chambers, Barrister Hassan Nawaz, is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb). The Chambers is also associated with ‘Legal & Analytical Research Center (LARC)’ – a legal think tank – that specialises in arbitration reforms and ADR procedures.

 

SPECIALIZED BANKING LITIGATION

 

The Chambers takes great pride in its extensive litigation portfolio and specialises categorically in representing Banks and various financial institutions in banking recovery matters. Barrister Hassan and other lawyers of the Chambers have successfully handled many banking disputes at both the Tribunal and High Court forums. Currently, the Chambers is handling Banking Litigation Portfolio in excess of Rs. 2 Billion for its various clients.

The Chambers has substantial experience of advising suppliers, entrepreneurs and customers on a broad range of commercial contracts across many different sectors. The Chambers’ experiences include negotiating commercial contracts for construction, engineering, services, assets sale, licensing, development, distribution, marketing, manufacturing, outsourcing and maintenance & support agreements.

The Chambers has extensive experience of advising on joint ventures, strategic alliances and has advised on a number of joint ventures in the past few years. It is equally at home with smaller joint ventures, advising either investors or entrepreneurs in the start-up phase. It has expertise in rapidly developing sectors such as publishing, financial services, pharmaceuticals and e-commerce, as well as in more mature markets such as real estate.

The Chambers offers legal services to financial institutions and potential foreign and local investors who wish to verify titles for land development projects. In this regard, the Chambers has human resources to verify and counter-check titles from Patwaris, LDA records and other custodian of land records.

REGULATORY

 

The Chambers provides legal and regulatory advice to companies, partnerships, funds, banks, insurers and other corporate entities. Due to the Chambers’ past experience and litigation portfolio, we are able to provide commercially driven legal advice in respect of matters pending before the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Competition Commission and Environmental Tribunals etc.
